Some of Our Main Achievements

- Good Friday Agreement.
- Health spend increased by 125% since 1997.
- 380,00 tax payers taken out of the tax net.
- Crime cut by over 25%.
- Garda numbers up over 800.
- First ever National Minimum Wage introduced and set at the highest
level in Europe.
- Education spend now at an unprecendented €5.4 billion.
- Established local Drugs Task Forces.
- Invested £15 billion under the National Development Plan 2002
- 2006 for Social inclusion measures.
- The creation of over 330,000 jobs in the country.
- Unemployment has fallen from 10.7% to 4% and long term unemployment
to 1.2%.
- Despite the global economic downturn most estimates suggest that a
growth rate of 5% per annum is attainable over the next decade.
