West Cork Enterprise Broard, IDA Ireland, Enterprise Ireland and Leader, together with substantial private matching funding from individuals, groups and project promoters have served to underpin strong activity in the development of income-earning opportunities at local level.

Getting connected to the information "super highway" has created and advanced communications and e-commerce infrastructure and will promote the development of the Information Society through the extension of broadband communications and e-commerce infrastructure. It also means that the barriers to conducting business over the Internet are being leveled across the country and geographical location will no longer be an impediment to locating and conducting e-business in West Cork.

This will result in increased employment opportunities throughout our region and allow us to continue to grow and prosper in the new economy."
